CT Scan

Select Diagnostic Imaging is proud to have the GE Britespeed Elite CT Scan with the latest software.CT scan uses sophisticated x-ray equipment and specialized computer to obtain multiple images at different angles to produce cross-sectional images. CT is especially useful in evaluation of the lungs, soft tissues, muscle and blood vessels.

CT Scan of Chest

Computed tomography (CT) of the chest uses special x-ray equipment to examine abnormalities found with other imaging tests and to help diagnose the cause of unexplained cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever, and other chest symptoms. CT scanning is fast, painless, noninvasive, and accurate. Because it can detect very small nodules in the lung, chest CT is especially effective for diagnosing lung cancer at its earliest, most curable stage.

CT Scan of Abdomen and Pelvis

Computed tomography (CT) of the abdomen and pelvis is a diagnostic imaging test. Doctors use it to help detect diseases of the small bowel, colon, and other internal organs. It is often used to determine the cause of unexplained pain. CT scanning is fast, painless, noninvasive and accurate. In emergency cases, it can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly enough to help save lives.

CT Scan of the Head

Computed tomography (CT) of the head uses special x-ray equipment to help assess head injuries, severe headaches, dizziness, and other symptoms of aneurysm, bleeding, stroke, and brain tumors. It also helps your doctor to evaluate your face, sinuses, and skull or to plan radiation therapy for brain cancer. In emergency cases, it can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly enough to help save lives.

CT Scan of Sinuses

Computed tomography (CT) of the sinuses uses special x-ray equipment to evaluate the paranasal sinus cavities – hollow, air-filled spaces within the bones of the face surrounding the nasal cavity. CT scanning is painless, noninvasive and accurate. It's also the most reliable imaging technique for determining if the sinuses are obstructed and the best imaging modality for sinusitis.

CT Scan of Spine

Computed tomography (CT) of the spine is a diagnostic imaging test used to help diagnose—or rule out—spinal column damage in injured patients. CT scanning is fast, painless, noninvasive and accurate. In emergency cases, it can reveal internal injuries and bleeding quickly enough to help save lives.

CT Enterography

Computed tomography (CT) enterography uses special x-ray equipment and an injection of contrast material after the ingestion of liquid to produce detailed images of the small intestine and structures within the abdomen and pelvis. It's often used to identify and locate problems within the bowel, such as inflammation, bleeding, obstructions and Crohn's disease. CT scanning is fast, painless, noninvasive and accurate. CT enterography is better able to visualize the entire thickness of the bowel wall when compared to other small intestine imaging procedures.

CT Angiography (CTA)

Computed tomography angiography (CTA) uses an injection of contrast material into your blood vessels and CT scanning to help diagnose and evaluate blood vessel disease or related conditions, such as aneurysms or blockages. CTA is typically performed in a radiology department or an outpatient imaging center.

CT Urography

Urography uses imaging and contrast material to evaluate or detect blood in urine, kidney or bladder stones, and cancer in the urinary tract. Urography with conventional x-ray is known as intravenous pyelogram (IVP). Urography is also often performed using computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). CT and MR urography are painless and proven effective in detecting urinary tract issues.

Preparations:

→ Most exams take less than 30 minutes.
→ Studies with IV contrast require the patient to fast for 4 hours prior to the test. Do not each or drink 4 hours before your test. Please alert our staff if you have a severe food or medication allergy or if allergic to IV contrast/x-ray dye.
→ Most studies of the abdomen and pelvis require patients to drink oral contrast after they arrived for their appointment.

As per the American Cancer Society, high risk for breast cancer includes women who:

-Have her lifetime risk of breast cancer of about 20-25% or greater according to risk assessment tools.
-Have known BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutations
-Have first degree relatives with breast cancer or BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation
-Had radiation therapy to the chest between ages of 10-30
